Last year we had lovely wildflowers along our historic railroad, and this is a good time to enjoy them. Check out the view as you cross the Red Mill Pond on a trestle.
Ride from the historic town of Clinton through the countryside to Tecumseh with several choices of layover time. Or ride from Tecumseh and have all the time you like to enjoy the town.
Pick your car
You can ride from Tecumseh or Clinton. From Clinton, you have the choice of several layover periods. This must be chosen at time of booking - otherwise there may not be seats for you on the way back!
You can also book the entire Memorial Caboose exclusively for your party. The caboose seats about 18 at windows, plus another dozen or so seats which are not at windows.
Or you can reserve in the historic coach, South Shore coach #1.
The train will be pulled by one of the first diesel engines ever made, dating to World War II.
The ride takes about 2 hours with a short layover in lovely downtown Tecumseh.

It's the easiest way to pay with credit cards and to assure your preferred seat. But don't worry, you can walk up too! Tickets will appear on your credit card statement as FareHarbor.

Times from Clinton
Ride from the Village of Clinton, Michigan on U.S. 12, just west of Saline and Ypsilanti. Board at 320 S. Division St., Clinton, MI 49236. (directions here) Turn at the Comerica bank and follow the tracks 3 blocks.
11:00 departure - 45 minute layover in Tecumseh - return on the 12:30 train - back at 1:20
1:30 departure - 10 minute layover in Tecumseh - return on the 2:30 train - back at 3:20
1:30 departure - 2 hour layover in Tecumseh - return on the 4:30 train - back at 5:20
3:30 departure - 10 minute layover in Tecumseh - return on the 4:30 train - back at 5:20
Times from Tecumseh
If you'd prefer, you can start at wonderful downtown Tecumseh on M-50 east of Dundee. Board immediately downtown, M-50 at the railroad tracks, on the sidewalk at 112 N Evans St. Tecumseh. Park behind hte downtown businesses. Don't worry, you'll find it, just listen for the whistle. You'll lay over in Clinton for a short time and visit our museum.
2:30 departure - short layover at our Clinton museum - return on the 3:30 train - back at 4:20
Fares (ROUND TRIP):
Adult (age 13-64) -- $13.60
Youth (ages 2-12) -- $9.40
Senior (age 65+) -- $11.50
Babies under 2 -- no ticket needed.
Online service fee already included in above pricing. Telephone fee $1 additional. Walkups less.
Seats in the open-air gondola only are refundable for weather - rain or temperatures under 50 at train time - whether actual or expected in the next-day weather forecasts. One refund per customer per season - do not book multiple dates. Call or email for refunds within 48 hours of train time.
